Support
Follow these checks before requesting parts. Always isolate power and bleed pneumatic pressure before opening guards.
Service
Framing machinery troubleshooting
Structured diagnostics for pneumatic underpinners (NN series) and cutting saws (CT / NC). Document symptoms with photos or short video for faster support.
Safety: Only qualified technicians should perform electrical or pneumatic repairs. Use lock-out/tag-out where your site policy requires it.
Before you start
- Record machine model, voltage, and serial plate.
- Note recent material changes (hardwood vs MDF, moulding width).
- Confirm shop air 6โ8 bar (87โ116 psi) at the machine inlet under load.
- Check whether the fault is intermittent or repeatable every cycle.
Underpinner diagnostic sequence
1 โ No cycle / no clamp
- Verify emergency stop released and door interlocks closed.
- Listen for air leak at FRL unit โ replace filter or regulator if pressure drops under clamp.
- Inspect foot pedal or PLC input LED (if fitted) for signal when triggered.
2 โ V-nail jam or double feed
- Empty magazine, inspect driver channel for bent nails or debris.
- Confirm nail height matches moulding profile chart in shipped manual.
- Reduce cycle speed until feed is stable, then restore production rate.
3 โ Weak joint / proud nail
- Increase clamp pressure within rated range for material hardness.
- Check corner squareness of moulding โ out-of-square sticks mimic driver misalignment.
- Inspect driver tip wear; replace if rounded or chipped.
Cutting saw diagnostic sequence
1 โ Rough or chipped cuts
- Replace or sharpen TCT blade when tooth wear visible.
- Confirm dust extraction not blocked โ heat buildup accelerates tear-out.
- Reduce feed speed on dense hardwood stacks.
2 โ Angle drift / gap in mitre
- Clean fence and clamp surfaces; debris causes micro-slippage.
- Run factory squaring procedure (see Docs Center or manual).
- Check hold-down cylinder pressure on NC stack cycles.
Preventive maintenance schedule
Daily (production shift)
Wipe fences, empty nail debris trays, visual blade/nail magazine check, log any unusual noise.
Weekly
Drain FRL water trap, lubricate per manual chart, verify safety interlocks.
Quarterly
Alignment verification, replace worn hoses/fittings, software/PLC backup if applicable.
