Breaking the Canvas Stretcher Bar Throughput Ceiling
Large canvas stretcher bar production network · United States · Picture Framing
Challenge
Manual pneumatic underpinners required operators to align, nail one corner, flip the frame, and repeat. Cycles ran 15–20 seconds with fatigue-driven misalignment and twisted joints on high-volume e-commerce canvas orders.
Solution
The factory deployed NN300 automatic quad-corner underpinner lines with 65 cm vertical feed height and synchronized vertical clamping. All four corners are locked and nailed simultaneously without lifting or flipping the frame.
Results
Cycle time
1–4 seconds per frame
Throughput
1,600–2,400 frames/hour
Reject rate
Near zero after upgrade
Testimonial
We finally absorbed peak-season POD volume without adding headcount. Corners are square every time — no more flip-and-hope.
